		<description>good stuff! i totally agree.

i would like to add to number 8,
depends where you live &amp; who is on duty. i called the police on my daughter several times for not coming home at night, cutting school and drinking alcohol.
the police AND childrens services told me that at age 15, she was too close to age 16, which they consider an "adult", so there was nothing they could do. they quickly followed up and stated that if anything happened to her while she was out at night, i could be charged if any harm came to her. nice catch 22.

I then took Kelli to a well known (in Charlotte NC) adolescent therapist (a PhD no less) who refused to see Kelli stating that she 'might' be duel diagnosis of depression + alcoholism = sorry about your luck mom. I had to wait until Kelli turned 18 so she could check herself into rehab, as no place would take her in SC or NC because she was a minor. pathetic how that goes with the she's an adult, no wait, she's a minor, thing.

well as you can see by Kelli's page, she died at age 18.
the only words of painful wisdom i can add from my loss is: if you live someplace where they wont help your child, find a state that will help. if i had a 'do over' with Kelli, i would have searched more than two states to get her the help she needed &amp; deserved.

thanks for letting me pass that on
&amp; thank you so much for being a part of Kelli's memorial page!
much love
